I always suggest using OEM fluids. However what does the truck do as far as work/demands

Maybe needs something that demands harsher conditions. It's not a hill climber is it

I've been a fan of Amsoil but always make sure you know what additives to use and not use

As long as it's not some dollar store brand. OEM should do it. I'd check fluids before winter starts and top it off. Drain some to check for discoloration.

How's the shifting when the Trans hasn't warmed up?

 

I believe the best fluid for that trans is Mobil 1 Synthetic ATF. It has the MERCON V rating that your trans requires.

Are you sure that it takes LV fluid? I don't have your owner's guide, but I thought it took MERCON V fluid, not MERCON LV.
