Fuel tank vent mod on a flatbed

I got tired of fighting the slow fill so I decided to tackle the problem on the front tank today.

I started with a 3/4-1/2 brass bushing and used a file to remove the threads along the top to mimic the ROPV.

After removing the old ROPV I lubed up the bushing with some motor oil and it slid in fairly easy.I ran the hose straight up over the bed frame and will tie it into the fill neck with another nipple. I'll have to get some JB Weld tonight to finish that. I should have about an hour into the entire install besides the filing of the nipple.

The 94-97 7.3L C&C trucks came with a 3/4" rollover valve in the mid ship tank and a 5/8" in the aft tank from the factory. They are both obsolete from Ford though and no dealers have any left in the country.

Well done, oh, you have a lot space over the thank, I had to use similar fittings but in 90* because there are little space under the box. Did you fill your tank yet? your opinion?

So this is a mod I really want to do but are y'all saying I can find the rollover valves from a C&C in a junk yard and use those without having to go the home-made route?

Yeah. Ours are aweful too. Every now and then I'll come across something useful but even then they must think it's made of platinum or something because everything is expensive. I found a new 3/4" in 2010 at a dealer near my in-laws and they picked it up for me. It's the only one I've seen since.

Filled up for the first time today, nozzle was wide open and filled with no spillage. Now for the back tank.

May need a 90* barb as there isn't nearly as much room over that tank.
