No, I wasn't trying to insult any one. I told my wife the axle shaft was allot (and I mean allot) easier to remove than her Mercury villager (which we know is the same as a nissan Quest). I also told her I was hoping to find someone that worked these things because I haven't and I didn't want to destroy something because my family can't afford costly mistakes.
I did not see where you insulted anyone here As for your Quest issues ? I did not see a post about that . That , is a horse of a different color .
we're good, I like to work on most anything. But I'm not a tech by trade. Just try to help out my friends and family, but honestly I rely on people from this forum and my mechanical nature.
I personally respect any input . I see strange things at times . I had a customer ( another shop ) bring a ranger in that would not turn off once started unless you pulled a battery cable . Ok , BS meter going off , but , it was a bad headlamp switch !I swear ! It was.! New headlamp switch , truck worked fine ... Took about 2 hours , and a wiring diagram , but that fixed it ! Scouts honor !
Having referenced a couple of Ford EVTMs, and seen a few of their electrical systems, this doesn't surprise me one bit. I wouldn't be surprised if it caused the power convertible top on some random car behind the shop to go up and down.
Could be from the diff to the bell housing because the bell housing fragements were in the bell housing. I would have to take the trans apart to know for sure and that's not going to happen now. Doesn't really matter. I was just saying that I didn't think it was a seal because of the symptoms.
Just got this, it is a quote (If you have a hole in the bell housing, Then the pin from the final drive gear may have punch a hole in the case. which means you need to either replace the case and switch all the internal parts into the new case or replace the transmission.)
