Drivelines and 6" lift
Hey guys. So I have some questions. I have a 1979 ford f150 short bed with a 351m. It's stock height and it sits a little higher in the back. I found a 6" skyjacker lift for a good price and was wondering if I would need longer drivelines or could I use my stock ones? Will the lift level my truck? Any other information or suggestions are well encouraged. Thanks.

well, it might sit level.....but minus those parts the rear axle wont be connected to the truck, and it wont be drivable????? Im suspecting you worded that poorly, may i suggest you re word it......

I think what he is asking is the rake built in some how else. Most trucks sit higher in the rear so when it is loaded it sits level. More than likely it will sit with a rake when you lift it and once every thing settles. If you want it level do like hio said or put your 6 in and see how it sits and figure out what you need todo to make it level.

I dont mean to jack your thread but.. I kind of am. Just briefly!
If one were to buy a truck that is already lifted 6", would it be safe to assume that it already has an extended drive shaft? And that to lower said truck, it would need a different shaft?
my apologizes, you may have your thread back now

I think you guys are missing something. If you take out the current springs, then put in a 6" lift (new springs) it should sit level. The front sag could be worn out springs. If it still sits uneven after the lift kit is installed, just swap the rear 4" blocks for 3" (or 3" for 2", whichever it has). that will drop the rear.
If the kit comes with new rear blocks, then no worries.
