The interior fits the truck, the first was a little too much. We stained and cleared the Ash, I should get it back Wednesday. I've been in touch with the promoter and we are going to be able to park our Motorhome at the Fairgrounds.

DSC00957 add some cool wheels and shorten the box to a 7 footer and unitize the cab and box, and were onto a unique truck that has a great custom look for cheep!
I would think you would have to stiffen the towncar frame like crazy to keep the flexing down on a unitized truck body?? Is this something you have done or a concept you are contemplating?

all experiential right now just to see how the two fit together, I train young guys here at my shop and I'll use projects like these to keep them busy, and to learn metal working skills. This was a 100.00 truck I bought off ebay no eng or trans, cab mounts & floor shot So wasn't worth trying to rebuild! I had a $500.00 97 TC I used most the body panels for other rebuilders, it still ran & drove good with 122k on it. So we shaved it down to fit truck over the fire wall frt pan and shortened the box reinstalling the bulkhead and then fit to the cab, burning it in good & proper. So it's just a test project to see if this is a workable deal? so far it functions well and looks right Ford should have made a 7 foot box.

It's just may way of recycling and keep young kids interested in the craft of building things, the two that I had on this truck have advance quickly and I have them on customer projects, i have a few other new young hoodlums that will get there time on it as well.
This Custom 427 SOHC truck is a great inspiration for them to see learn about it gets them pumped and then we get busy in the shop. But the hard part is finding the youngsters these days that have interest in old stuff & the willingness to get involved.

Wow!! A bump side Uni? Is that what I see?
How cool is that? If you never go off road or haul
anything heavy I don't see a flex problem at all.
Just keep the hammer down in a straight line. And
you will be fine.
