Horn button issues

I fought with mine after installing a new wire. No matter how hard I pushed down on it and tried to twist the horn button on I couldn't get it to engage on the 3 tabs. I finally had to bend the 3 tabs up ever so slightly to get it to seat.

I got a new (probably Chinese) horn button for Christmas 2 years ago.

I had to actually shave part of the button off to get it to turn inside the wheel.

I have been contemplating this technique as well
