Transmission Cavitation?

This is a follow up to my previous Vibration post. My buddy sat in my idling truck yesterday to feel my "vibration". He said it is my transmission fluid "gone bad" and the pump is cavitating causing the vibration. I have to agree that it is a surging vibration and it is not the engine. He suggested we change the fluid and filter and he is confidant it will go away. He said he had a similar problem with his old E4OD and changing the fluid helped. BTW the truck has 22,000 miles on it now. Anybody ever heard of this? I know there are some tranny experts out there!

Transmission Cavitation?

I'm no tranny expert, but that seems a bit far fetched to me.

It should be pretty easy to diagnose if that is the problem. If it were pumping that much air you should be able to pull the dipstick with it running and see pink foam instead of oil.
