Tuner question: are they swappable

My dad has an 06 chevy duramax with a bully dog gt tuner.
Just wondering if that tuner or any other tuner could be set up to plug and play on multiple trucks! Dad doesnt drive much so I was wondering if i could swap his tuner into my truck when he's not using it. I'd say no but thought I'd ask.

I don't know anything about a Bully Dog, but going from a Duramax to a stroke, I'd agree with Darin and say no. With a Super chip tuner, going from one stroke to another, you have to return the first truck to stock setting before it will work on the second truck.

Yep. Those tuners are usually locked to the truck. You want a chip with some custom tunes anyway .

I wish I could find something that would work on both and I would sell his bully dog and buy it but I agree. Custom tunes flashed is probably the way to go. Maybe next year. My goal this year is to get some gages and get my glow plugs fixed.
