Rad replaced?

Have been reading my Oasis report and I see they have changed the rad on my truck 4 times.
Anyone got any ideas why it would need changing 4 times?

I don't want to hsave to do it a 5th time iof I can help it.

Theres 6 pages to my Oasis report this truck almost makes me think its a candidate for a lemon law or something?

Yikes 6 pages!!

The 08's had real problem with radiators, the 09/10's not so much, something about the way they mount I believe...

You'll do it a 5th time. Just a matter of when. The oem rads are junk, plastic end tanks crimped on. Changed it for the 5th time (when it comes) and last time with an all aluminum one.

I take it you bought it used? I'd say you wouldn't stand a chance filing under lemon laws at this point. But what do I know. I can't imagine having 4-5 new radiators, and other "fixed" issues. I'd put a match to my truck by now. Mine is stock and only changed one radiator hose since Nov 08. But I get a nervous gut feeling every time I drive it. Hate that feeling even with extended warranty.

What else is on the list, other than the radiators.

The aluminum aftermarket radiators have also been reported to fail. I only went through 3 radiators in 84k and what the tech and service manager explained to me is the cause for failure starts at the thermostats. They allow for a pressure spike to happen and this is what makes radiators to leak.

Something I forgot to add was I asked for this info when I bought the truck.
The dealer gave me the first page and said "not much on it".

There's only one on the market at this point that Im aware of. I also havent heard of any failures, not to say there isnt I just havent seen/heard/read about it yet.
They can say what they want but they all leak from the same spot (end tanks) the aluminum ones wont have that problem.

What was your aluminum one worth and where did you get it?
I think I read somewhere you changed it yourself right?

You can add a 3rd aftermarket radiator Mfg. that are making replacements for the 6.4 and probably the 1st one to offer one. Vista pro #438400 also if you do a search under "aftermarket radiator" and scroll down to post #13 you will see a poster say he is on his 3rd mishimoto radiator.

That vista pro is not all aluminum, it has plastic end tanks according to the description.
I'll take a look for the thread you mentioned about the mishimoto, I'd like to know what failed.
