G'day Rod

I'll steer you to this thread bro. The links have all the info. Very impressive results on the stock turbo. Not so much on the 38R. Have you spoken to Jody yet ??

No worries Rod. I would speak to Jody before spending any more money m8.
Bryan (Nkelly) is going through the same scenario as you and believes its in the tunes. Enjoy the break m8.

Got my 45psi boost gauge today. I'll install it over the w/e and get some measurements of the max boost before the change over to the G2WW.
The gauge is the stepper motor type with adjustable alarm setting and max value recall.

I'll set the alarm at 40 psi - I wont expect to see that with the stock wheel which seems to just top out the current 30psi gauge.

FLIPPING FLEA-BAY, ordered a 52 mm guage, they sent me the 60mm one then went on holiday for 2 weeks.

This is going to take longer than I expected...

Wod's still running the FA stock down-pipe inin't he?

Me thinks the FA downpipe is the 'root' of all EGT and other tuning woes on the Ozzy F250s.

I had close to a 400C drop in EGT, under load going from a FA stock DP to a 4" DP. I think Reg, after initally thinking of retaining the stock DP, was inspired to get a 3.5" DP made and also got a huge improvement. Rod aptly described the FA DP something like an 'abortion of engineering'. Pretty much sums it up.

WWG2 fitted over the w/e - yay!

Finally got some wrenching time.

I removed the turbo and pulled off the compressor housing:

https://plus.google.com/photos/10776...13830402976812

What I found was a blackened stock compressor wheel and a fair bit of black lining the IC pipes and boots. Boo!

I've ordered the GTP38 turbo rebuild kit from Clay.

While I wait I figured I'd fit the WWG2 wheel and put it back together for a bit of a test spin.

Running:
stock sticks & HPOP, 6637 air filter, EBPV delete turbo outlet, AIH delete, 4" turbo back system, Superchips performance tune, Overboost Code Regulator and:
1) Stock compressor wheel: 27psi boost;
2) WWG2 compressor wheel: 30psi boost (gauge maxed out).

I will not use the truck now until I have completed the turbo seals rebuild.

After which I will put it to the real test to see if the turbo surge encountered with the stock wheel has been cured with the WWG2.
