Why is the catalog 1976, because this is the year it was printed? If so, it will include 1973/76, but not 1977/79.

Note the printing date on the bottom of the page of the 1973/79 catalog.

Parts catalog has "1976" on cover.. and a print date of December 1975..figured it would work ok for my 1975 truck as catalog seems to cover '73 to '76. Will have to find other source of info for any 1977 and later parts that MAY be on the truck.. think that is your point... or am I quite possibly missing something here?

These appear to be the one year only bound paper catalogs that were sent to dealers at the beginning of the model year, which in this case, occurred September 1975.

These were supposed to be used until the new 1976 loose leaf pages or the microfiche that included 1976 were available.

Loose leaf paper catalog intro'd in 1973, then FoMoCo sent dealers new loose leaf pages for 1974/79.

It was a PITA taking all the loose leaf pages out of the huge heavy 3 ring binders, inserting the new pages, then putting all the loose leaf pages back into the binders.

I have a 1964/72 Ford truck loose leaf paper catalog, has 4,941 pages of text, 1.961 pages of illustrations. The text is inserted into two binders, the illustrations in another.

Can I assume the information in these catalogs is correct? Seems your info is more comprehensive and up to date. Would think "books" must have been "loose" pages before they were bound into book form. they should have sent them to you guys before binding if they were just going to be taken apart.

AFAIK, there was never any 1973/79 bound paper catalogs. There were: 1928/47, 1948/56 & 1957/63 bound paper truck catalogs (I have all).

There were 4 of these 1973/79 loose leaf catalogs: Ford Passenger Car (included Bronco) / L/M Passenger Car / Ford LIGHT truck (F100/500, Econoline & P Series) / Ford HEAVY truck.

Also available on microfiche (I have all 4), but the problem was that the microfiche viewer introduced in 1967 had terrible resolution, had to be refocused every time the slide was moved.

In the 1980's, Ford introduced a new viewer, 1/2 the size of the gargantuan original with much better resolution. But most partsguys preferred the 'books.'

btw in 1968: The parts manager at the dealer I was working at (Ralph Williams Ford in Encino) got so feed up with the viewer, that he heaved it into the dipsy dumpster!

Historic buildings: Seattle recently demolished William O. McKay Ford and his terra cotta faced L/M store next door...despite preservationists pleas.

Really too bad about the McKay Ford building....I had heard that is was "at risk." I belong to the both WA State and National Trust for Historic Preservation. We have an old Ford Garage/Dealership building languishing just across the street from us....great building with so much potential. Fortunately we are high desert.. so buildings and vehicles last longer even is spite of neglect. There isn't much difference between vehicle restoration and building restoration.. IF you ignore the extra zeros.

Two decades ago I got tired of what I was doing and I Bought an old 1903 hotel in Waterville WA that closed for 20 years, Re-opened it in 1996 after moving from northern CA. We host a lot of car clubs and motorcycle clubs. I know lots of the folks in Seattle associated with Preservation..they're a great group doing what they can to preserve our architectural heritage. Waterville is halfway between Seattle and Spokane on US Hwy 2...The National Park Highway and also part of the Old Yellowstone Trail.

We have a number of old vehicles as yard art: 2 McCormick model 20 crawlers.. one has loader, McCormick 15-30 steel wheel, and 1942 Chevy 1 1/2 ton flat bed as well as other stuff scattered about. Citroen clubs stays with us too.. got some pics somewhere....whats not to like about a 2CV6 and 28 screaming horsepower.

I Google Earthed the dealer, one side of the v shaped sign on the front of the building says Kopey's Garage, other side says Ford Garage.

Have you ever been inside to see if anything Ford related remains?

I see your hotel, tractors and what appears to be a 1941/46 Chevy truck. While I have traveled east of the Cascades, haven't been in your area.

Two years ago, we drove highway 20 east from Anacortes, stopped in Sedro-Woolley to visit a fellow FTE member (wagonerki). He lives in a former lumber baron's Victorian home.

There's quite a few "old rides" in Twisp, Brewster has an AC Mack Bulldog resting in a shed that also contains old farm equipment. We visited Grand Coulee Dam, then drove south to The Gorge, drove on the WA side to Vancouver.

I'm an architecture buff, have dozens of books on the subject. I also use Google Earth quite a bit to search for dealership signs, painted on the buildings, hanging porcelain, neon and etc signs.

I'm familiar with Citroen's as my dad was once the west coast distributor.

Did figure out the CID of the F600... 360 CI ..using dowel to measure stroke.
Compressions 4@125, 117,110, 120, 105

Lots of old automotive and farm stuff out here that is well preserved. Good place to "hunt" for such things. We have a number of customers that stay with us each year for that purpose.

360 is an FE engine, only installed in 1968/72 F100/350's. 361 is an FT engine, installed in 1964/78 500 and larger series trucks.

Lots of old automotive and farm stuff out here that is well preserved.

Good place to "hunt" for such things. We have a number of customers that stay with us each year for that purpose.
July 2010: "She who must be obeyed" attended a confab in Seattle. After it ended, we took a 10 day trip thru WA

She drove while I looked at the scenery, the 'old rolling piles of misery' scenery, that is...and there's a lot to look at.

This was our first trip east of the Cascades in WA, it won't be our last. If I had known about your hotel, would have stayed there...instead of the 2 nights we stayed at that la-di-dah resort in Winthrop.

btw: After WWII ended, my dad...a USN supply officer...was transferred from the heavy cruiser USS Quincy (CA-71) to Bremerton to decommission ships.

Because housing was in very short supply, dad, mom and I lived on a goat farm...on Vashon Island.

Hope your dad didn't end up with the health problems that lots of people did decommissioning boats.

We like Vashon.. all good.. We often stay at a BB on Whidby Island the place though not a goat farm.. does have 2 or 3 goats which our cattle dog was always very curious of and appreciative of the abundance of Goat "treats" they produce.

Stamped on the Warranty Plate: TRANS: A / AXLE: 2
AXLE code stamped on the Warranty Plate has three digits. 1st two refer to the rear axle, 3rd to the front axle.
F60 = F600 2WD (gas).

K = 477 4V V8 (7.8L).

A = New Process 435 4 Speed Manual Transmission.

There's no AXLE code of 2 .. It has to have 3 digits, but the assembly line worker that stamped the codes, omitted the last 2.
