6.4 Stuck with Gelled fuel

It's been around 0 to 10 F for the past week or two here. My 2008 6.4 starts fine @0 then drives about 10 miles and quits. This has happened on several different occasions and seems better when the temp gets in the mid-upper teens. I let it sit for about 10 min, it starts up and goes 5-6 miles...quits and repeat and repeat and repeat.. I got to a station and filled up (~12 gallons) and drove fine with temp ~15 F ..... ~ 22 miles ). I have the fuel and oil filters changed RELIGIOUSLY every 5k miles (About 2k miles ago now). I had added double doses of Diesel Kleen Anti-Gel (not 911) at the first occurence. Does the HFCM have a heating element that might not be working? I haven't gotten under the truck to drain the HFCM yet. Any ideas? ford dealr here is backed up 2-3 weeks with diesel issues. Thanks and regards...joe

No heating element like the old 7.3. I would pull lower filter and look at it. Drain while your down there. I wouldnt keep trying to drive it until I got it figured out though. Any way to measure fuel pressure?

just to make sure, you are running the white bottle of power service Diesel Fuel Supplement(anit-gel), Not the grey bottle of power service Diesel Kleen(non Anti-gel).

so you added the power service after it acted up the first time correct? if so i wonder if the filters are partially plugged up and wont clear itself out without replacement of filters?

i think the fuel cooler would act as a heating unit when the truck is running?

where ya from?

Buddy at work just pulled his truck in and lower filter had slime coat on it again so we think that's the problem so this will be filter #5 in about 12-14k miles roughly

Thanks!
I am sure I used the white bottle of Anti Gel. I specifically read the label for this since I had the problem. I guess I could have gotten a bad tank of fuel, but the problem only started in the cold weather. When I added some warm fuel (from an underground tank at a filling station), it seemed to clear the problem up since the truck got me home and then gave me a problem again after the truck sat over night at below 0.

I do not have a Water warning on the dash...

I thought there would be SOME method to warm the fuel also, It seems strange that I would get that far before the truck quit.

I live in Northern New New Jersey; Mt Olive twp...Flanders/Budd Lake

I appreciate every one's responses. I haven't worked up the courage to lay on the ground (6 in of packed COLD snow!) and open the drain and I have never opened the fuel filter. This doesn't seem like a good time to practice I have resigned myself to getting this thing to the dealer. It's supposed to get above freezing later this week-end

Regards...joe

If I can monitor this on the CTS, what should it be? It did post a p0097 low fuel pressure code ONE time, but not consistently when I have had problems.
