1966 f100 door locks

i am new to this forum and all forums. i am 15 years old and love everything ford and my first truck is a 1966 f100. i have owned my truck for 4 months and have installed all new brake shoes and springs and installed a rebuilt c4 transmission. i resonantly order multiple parts from LMC truck and one of those items was a lock/ignition set. i have already installed the ignition but the door locks are giving me a hard time.1 i cant figure out how the retaining clip fits. 2 the door locks into place before the lock cylinder travels all the way up. 3 i am missing the clip that holds the linkage to the lock. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Don't be afraid to use the search function. If I search this forum for Door Locks about the 5th item down is this thread.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...s-picture.html

That should help get you going.

Sure. If nothing else it might help you talking about which clips you need by partial part number. I sold Scott some clips that slide over the lock cylinder lever and the lock rod snaps into that clip. I can do 2 of those clips for $4 shipped if you need them.

Here's Scott's other thread with the part numbers and diagrams.

Which retaining clips are you referring to? See parts catalog pic.

22023 clip retains the lock cylinders into the doors.

21954 clip retains the 22152 lock rods to the cylinders.

21952 clip retains the 22152 lock rods to the door latch.

you are right, you are missing 1 or both clips. The exact same thing happened to me. Once you know what you are missing, post it here. The clips from TA455HO are great. The others, I found extras at a Ford dealer in OHIO about $6. Look at the relationship of the lever also- it points toward the rear toward the latch

Anyone know where I can find the door lock clip 21952 - retains the 22152 lock rods? I need one for the driver side door on my '66.

welcome to the forum. I had some trouble finding the clips and Numbers dummy, who you will find out was invaluable and with his help as well as help from TA455HO my locks work fine now

Here is the good news or the bad news, I'm not sure which. Need help here a the forum After I got the clips, I found one in the door. I'm not sure if it is a Right or left.

Can someone identify the hand Right/Left

You can have it if it is the Left (passenger door) send me a personal message (pm) with your mailing address after we determine it is the one you need They are left and right

Again, welcome

Scott

Hi Scott,

Thank you for your response. While I don't have a driver side clip to compare with the one you posted, the images shown in https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...s-picture.html would suggest that it is from the driver side.

So I'd be happy to take you up on your offer. I have not been an FTE member long enough to send PM's, so if you can send me a PM with your email address, we can work out the details.

Many thanks!
Lane
