OH OH NOT SURE ABOUT THIS!!

good day I just read a post from a fellow asking about "high and low tunnel" trans humps for a carpet install and now that has me thinking are the 2wd and 4wd different heights? the reason I am asking is I have a 79 f150 4x4 s/c with a c6 and np205 coming next week [all ready paid for] and I was going to rebuild the chassis and install a complete body off one of my f250 2wd s/c am I going to have trouble with the height? any fixes? please help if you can thank you

Not sure on this generation of truck but on the bullnose truck (80-86) the auto trans has a shallow tunnel and the manual has a high rising one. Not sure about 2wd vs 4wd. I had a 86 f250 that originally had a c6 and the po put a zf5 and he cut the tunnel up the middle splayed it open and welded in a strip to make up the diff thus giving him the clearance for the bulky zf. Hope this helps

The tunnel can be cut out and the high one bolted on, very easy to do.

Correct, the low tunnel trucks have the outline stamped into the floor pan. You can cut it out and install the trans tunnel cover.
Just be careful when you go to cut the hole. Measure, measure, measure! If you cut along the factory line in the floor pan, the hole will be too big. Measure the donor's opening and go from there.
