head light flash

K on my way to the rig this morning I turned my brights on and the head light stated blinking it pulsating very even blinks like a blinker my turn signals were not on pulled over it stoped so I started driving did it agean so I hit the top of the dash and it started going haywire and now it does it when it wants and taping the dash makes it change . If been having a lot of problems with my baby here lately plug looks good I don't know what to do every thing is going wrong with it all at once

When they blink do they go completely off or do they blink between the high and low beams? It sounds to me like a bad multi-function switch (MFS or the turn signal switch).

It is does it when in low beams and in high they are blinking completely off running light and tail light don't just head lights

That really sounds like an issue with the MFS. It's not a bad job to swap one. It's really only a 20 minute job.

Better pull the headlight switch and check it. Look at the back of it and the plug that plugs into it to see if they look burnt or melted. I have seen a few trucks burn to the ground because of a shorted headlight switch.

What do I do if they do look burnt is it some thing I can do my self in one hour I only have an hour a day to do any thing I need and it's usually right about now I work 7 days a week every week

Replace the switch if it looks burnt. LMC sells a wiring kit to take the power to the headlights off the switch and run it through a relay straight off battery power. The power draw of the headlights going through the switch is what burns them up. The wiring kit eliminates that.

I've ordered the catalog 3 times in the last year and never got one from once wanted to see if I could find seats for my truck does any other company make one and if I change the switch do I need to change the plug that plugs in to the switch

Wow thank you very much only have a million other problems with her I will order that now hopefully that will fix it

On the years it doesn't go to 97 .96 is the highst it goes

'96 and '97 will be the same. I'm not saying this is your problem. Just giving you something to check. I would check it out before I ordered anything.

I don't want to chase a problem I'd rather just start replacing every thing
