Greetings all!

Spent a couple of years pouring over the Ecoboost and 250 threads. Finally realized that my Subaru was never going to die and my financier (wife) was not as ecstatic to drop 30 grand plus on a new truck. So I went the infinitely better option and bought a '73 F 100 Ranger. Don't know much (anything?) about repairs and restoration, so my learning curve will be steep. I've done the initial tune up/oil change bit. No major leaks. I want to pull the engine and take it to a shop to be worked over. All the suggestions I found online mentioned individuals who have moved on to another plain. Any ideas of a dependable/excellent machine shop in Tulsa? I am willing to drive to OKC (or elsewhere) if need be. Last question-what are the chances of turning this thing into a daily driver? I'm not overly concerned about gas mileage, but would like to be able to drive it back and forth to Fort Worth every couple of months. I guess the NEXT thing will be to get some "better" wheels. Last owner put Ram wheels on them. I appreciate the collective ideas of the forum!

Welcome to FTE
I drive the livin' snot out of mine. It's a '74 4x4 short bed.
I live in SoCal and drive it to Vegas, NoCal, Montana wherever.
It'll take good care of you.
How 'bout figuring out how to post some pics and give us an idea of what you want to do with it. Example; hot rod it, stock resto, update the systems but look stock.
Congrats on pulling the trigger.

Welcome to the addiction. You'll find that these trucks are pretty easy to work on comparatively speaking. Lots of good resources here on the forum, just ask.

Now show us what you have!
