Exclamation Urgent help needed!!!

Vehicle 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with 4.6L

Ok, just did a head gasket replacement. Everything is now hooked back up. Now when we try to restart the car, we get lights, but nothing from the starter. Also the OBDII code puller can't communicate with the car. Also the security light flashes very fast when you try to start.

Does ANYONE have ANY ideas? PLEASE HELP!

I never disturbed any of the ground wires.

Any other suggestions?

My biggest baffle is why the OBDII code scanner won't communicate.

The only suggestion I have is from when I replaced the engine in my Honda and couldn't get it started. I found a connector that wasn't all the way seated. Double check all your connectors.

I'd suggest you check all fuses and fusible links to see if any are burned. Maybe a wire got pinched when reassembling.

I'm on board with the wiring being the problem . Loose ground , they are everywhere , connector not fully seated , fuse , etc.

One other thing that I noticed late last night was that the security light on the dash is blinking very rapidly.

Got off the phone with the stealership this morning and they said that the PCM may need re-flashed.

Does this sound like something that could possibly be?

The flashing Security light when trying to start it often indicates that the PATS/SecuriLock systems does not recognize the key. If you have another programmed key for the Explorer, try it, by itself, with no other transponder keys nearby.

If you did not change the PCM or the PATS modules out during this process, I would not expect the PCM to need to be reflashed.

Nothing outside of Head Gaskets were changed. I did have to remove the computer module from the body of the vehicle so that I could get to the back bolts on the head, but it is the same one that was in it to begin with.
