here's a couple of trucks from a junkyard in upstate NY. the pickup gave up its 9" to give my f1 some highway gears. the panel looks almost good enough to save. pic was about 6 years ago.

That panel should not have been left there

The panel is OK but seeing the pickup hurts me.

toby, i didn't see where my 9" came from until i was up there later and asked about it. that blue truck i believe is a unibody? can't believe no one bought the whole truck to save. my EAB v-8 similar story. when i later saw the car it came from '53 two door sedan, it was as nice or nicer than my truck. dick r.

My late father in law had one very similar to that one. Always wanted it but now it sits at the farm rotting away. Went to borrow his 12 ft. fishin' boat one time and it was still hooked up to the 62. He said go ahead and take that to the lake. I said Oh Yeah! Brake line broke backing down the ramp to launch the boat. Water up to the top of the seat. The Barry boys pulled us out and we went fishin'. Fond memories of that old truck and Glen as well. Life is kind of a bzzzh sometimes. Oh well.

Saw this on Facebook, I think it said Nelson Nevada. There as a whole album of the town, lots of classics just hanging out in the desert, mostly Chevys though

...Posted pics of this Ol Mercury wrecker a few weeks back. Went back and had a better look. It only an hour or so from where I live.

..... Now I have a question for all the wrecker experts. The owner has owned this truck for several years, but he has been familiar with it since the fifties. Says the original owner (long deceased) had it as a wrecker since it was new. I am wondering if the deck is a home built or a commercial unit, such as a Holmes etc. Any thoughts/info welcome. Extra pictures here.

Stan, I am not a expert, but the wrecker body does appear to be a commercial built unit from the late forties or fifties. Hopefully another member will know more. The truck would be a unique vehicle to save and restore. Tien
