Another someday project.

Ok. I need a close up shot on this hood ornament. Is it something your dad added way back?

Josh, That looks like the stock '38 hood latch on that truck.

Nice find Stan! Let me know if you would like to get together sometime and discuss Ford Merc trucks. I have my 51 put away for the winter.

I guess this is as good a thread as any to introduce myself. I am Tim from Victoria BC. I just joined the FTE today. I have been lurking for a short while and have found this forum to be very helpful.

I dragged this 51 F3 home from Northern Saskatchewan this summer. It had been sitting in a friend's field for 28 years. Originally it was just going to be more lawn art to sit beside my 66 Merc PU. But I'll be darned if it didn't start up after putting a fuel pump in it. Now I think I will restore the mechanical, glass, interior etc but leave the faded red patina the way it is.

Thanks fellas. Red neck lift kit....very good!.

I promise I wont touch the paint. I did cut polish a tiny square below the glove box door on the dash. That will come up nice.
