Are there many older cars still kicking around that way in the way of 3 window coupes say in the late 30's up to 40.

Their was a salvage yard about an hour from my location that had a bunch of 40's-50's cars with trees growing thru them. It was a great place to go, and different times of the year yielded different finds in the overgrowth. less then a year after the old man passed a way the kids scrapped everything and sold the land. It left a black hole in my soul.

Yup, when scrap prices went threw the roof a lot of vintage iron went bye bye....

Their was another yard minutes from me that had an area with about 75 cars/trucks ranging form 50's to 70's.

The owner sold to a pick n pull type company. When they reopened all the vintage iron was gone and Hyundai's were staged in that area. So sad.

My buddy owns a salvage yard a couple towns over, when he bought the place he created an area that is called "Memory Lane" anything that he thinks should be saved goes there. At least somebody is saving some stuff.

Hard to believe there was a time in my life when I wouldn't have given these old trucks a second's worth of glancing at. Now I love them all!

... So this fellow calls me and says "I hear you are into ol Ford/Merc trucks". ... Yup, what you got. Genuine original 47 Merc 1tonner. Its about a 100 miles away, so I go have a look. ....

... Parked in 1982. Sunk in the dirt to its axles. Sitting well hidden in an empty abandoned overgrown farm yard. ....... A few $$ changes hands ... and yup, it follows me home. .....

....Pretty good day in my world today. ...
Stan. .............

Did you get a title with it or is it going to be a parts truck. Looks in good shape for being in the mud that long.
