getting a weird chime from under my dash on this 97 150. have read its the air bag chime and stems from an airbag light burnt out and other things.

ive read all about the "right" way to fix this, but the truck is old and i refuse to spend money on a chime, but id still like to shut it up. where is the offending speaker and what would it hurt to cut the wires to it or bust the speaker?

the reason it chimes is because it is missing an air bag from a wreck years before i bought it. i really dont want the air bag in the first place

 

Then find and unplug the SRS module.
