What Engine do I have?
My vin # is F 61DCBJ2970
I know the truck originated in Canada (Has a KM/H speedometer ) It is an F600.
There is no plate on the door jam just a Connecticut DMV generated sticker with that VIN number on it.
I want to purchase a new Carb, but do not know what to get, or where to get it.
Carb on the truck now is: D8TE-AHA
Can anyone help.
Thanks

If you shift the two-speed 'transfer case' with a red button on the gear shift, that is actually a two-speed axle. Do you have a four or a five speed? When I drove Class Six, I preferred the five speed. Either one will be a good stout transmission.
If you could post a few photos of the engine it would be helpful. Especially the valve covers and the thermostat housing. Upload the pics to Photobucket and then paste the IMG tag into your post.

With the D8TE-9510-AJA stamped into the carb, the carb appears to be original. A Ford truck parts person could back check the carb number and decipher which engine the carb came from. That series of numbers is the Ford number.
The "List 4069" on the carb will give any competent parts counter person all the information needed to get you a correct replacement carb. All Holley carbs have a "list" number. That is how Holley identifies their carbs. The "list" refers to the engineer's specification "list" for the particular application.
The 0098 is a Holley date code for the manufacture date of the carb. Holley used a couple different date systems, changing in late 60's-early 70's. Looks like your carb was built on the 9th (009) day of 1978 (8).
