I can honestly say I have never heard a v6 with an aftermarket exhaust that I liked. It is missing two cylinders.

How about a straight-six Jaguar DOHC? Or a Vulcan? Both have a very nice sounding thrum to me.
I have heard V8 engines with two individual exhausts, and they sound 'blatty' to me.

So, I'd say it's not the number of cylinders per se that determines how they sound.

Nice one. Did you PM 2escapefmt for help on that?

Tom, I just haven't heard an aftermarket that I like. All the free flowing just give the 6s I've heard an awful sound. Plus it's not going to do anything noticeable for power on top end (which may not be the goal here) and possibly hurt low end. Best way to know this is by doing dyno runs before and after.
