That's correct. N means Norfolk plant, and the rest is the build sequence.

I have fallen victim to the "search feature" myself. But if you swing on over to the FAQ thread, post number 6 has a link to VIN Decoders.

I've used it, it's accurate.

Your VIN is F10YNB53283
F10 = F100 Two Wheel Drive.
Y = 360ci V8 2 Barrel.
N = Norfolk Assembly Plant.
B53283 is the Build Sequence Number.
Your truck was built in February 1976, as a 1976 model year.
Post a picture of your warranty tag on the driver side door below the latch and I can decode
it and tell you even more information about the truck such as original paint color(s), axles,
the transmission and other info as well.

That's the issue I am having...the metal tag that warranty ID is printed on is not there. It is a paper sticker with the vin and the audit number. Is there anywhere else to look? I would love to know all that I can about this truck.

Is there another way to find out more about this truck without the warranty tag...it was stolen in the late 80's and then found and returned to rightful owners in the 90's then bought by me in 2013...lots of lost info just trying to find it all out.
