Auxiliary or bigger tank needed

I have a 08 crew cab -V10-4x4. I'd like a bigger gas tank - does anyone make a bigger tank for the 08's?

Throw the spare in the bed, and add an Excursion tank. 450's and 550's have a dual tank option, so the valves and switches are available.

Do an online search.. there are a few to choose from. Some are in the bed and others replace the existing tank.

here's a link to fuel tank mods on the so11 and newer diesels. Maybe you can get some information from there. They mention two after market tanks, perhaps you can Google the names and call the OEM for your application.

Transfer Flow

I had a company called Transfer Flow Technology install a 60 gallon in my 08 f350. Its been in place for 5 years and it works great. The stock fuel gauge does not work completely accurately but its pretty close and they give you a calibration chart when they install the tank. I can run over 1000 miles on a tank of fuel(depending on load). Very happy with it.

I have the 6.4 diesel. The new tank mounts in the same location as the original tank. you can't even tell its there until you try to fill it up. lol

Is there a reason I can't use a diesel tank- and still use my OEM pump?
Seems like no one makes a replacement tank that is larger in capacity. Only for the diesel side. Not gas.

I wouldn't. If it isn't rated for gas I wouldn't use it, but that is just me.

Transfer Flow tanks are typically all rated for gas or diesel. It is one of the their selling points. There has to be a reason, I just don't know what it is. Maybe the tank has to be stronger or allow for more expansion.

I don't like in bed tanks as I like to use my bed. I got a long bed truck the last couple of times with one of the reasons being the larger fuel tank.

I've searched for one myself. I did one time find a larger steel replacement tank. Living in the rust belt I'll keep my poly tank. I cannot remember what the name was. It was something around $1200. Otherwise you're probably lookin at in bed tanks from transfer flow or similar. I guess gasoline tanks have stricter requirements, evaporative emmissions, than diesels so there is a much larger aftermarket for them. I would like more capacity myself but won't do steel and the short bed is already short enough to lose bed space I need.
