Spend a couple years driving at that level. It won't be anything to you either. Lol. 500hp in a regular cab 2wd is a lot different than 500hp in a crew cab though.

Still though, it does sound impressive none the less. 500hp in anything is.

Yeah I know. I'm bored with my truck as well. I just wish the funds were there to match my plans.

That should be no problem as long as you're tuned right.

I gave up on 'no limit' Jonathan and had Tony W redo my chip. It seems to run really well now but haven't tested it with the 5er. When I did have a chance I blew off a IC boot and had to go easy on the way home. Easy is not in my vocabulary, LOL

Well, a little further into this trip and I will now get to test the starting abilities of Ruby in colder weather. It's 30* this morning and supposed to be down to 18* tonight and tomorrow. I hope my new relay and Interstate Megas are up to the task. I am not too worried. I threw a 100 ft. extension cord in my toolbox just in case. North Texas can go from "oh it's so nice today" to "holy sh** where did this cold come from" in about an hour. Good times to be had by all.

Hahaha!! Yessir. It's not uncommon to have several days during 'winter' with a >30* spread in less than 12 hours. When I put up my Christmas lights I started in the afternoon with shirts, t shirt, and flip flops and finished at night with jeans, boots, carhartt, beanie, and gloves. And I say winter. We really have December, January, February, and summer.

Well fellas, after my tranny cooling line thread, all seems to be back to normal. We head out at 0600 and will be taking Sat and Sun to get back. I'll log mileage, as usual, and keep those updated who care to read.

The good news is that my truck started right up this morning in 7* weather! One 10 second cycle of the glow plugs and she fired right up! No smoke, no hesitation, so that was good to know after the other crap that happened. I'll keep ya posted and hopefully get some photos up of a few good things we saw. Cheers!

Be safe on your trip home, and looking forward to some pics of cool stuff!

That's awesome that your truck started so well in the cold temps. The previous owner must have done a grade A job on maintenance. Drive safe and as the motto goes, "Arive Alive."

Thanks guys. Nate, pedal was down for 800 miles! Thomas, thanks. My guess is that your hard work will pay off. You are going to be stoked when it fires right up and runs well!

Not a whole lot to report today other than the truck ran flawlessly and we made ok time to our overnight stay in New Mex. Thing one thing I was pretty excited to report was my mileage. I filled up before leaving the Plano area this morning. I went 440 miles before putting in more fuel. It took 24 gallons total to top off both tanks. My hand calced mileage was 18.33!!! Now, I kept it in cruise at 65 the entire run with exception of passing a few semis. There was also no wind, head or tail. I can't believe it did that well! I calced it a couple times to make sure. Oh, and no trans fluid leaks I am going to run 70 the rest of the 10 hours tomorrow and see what I get. I am curious how much it will change.
