whats your dream 460 build?
recently bought a 1990 f250 with a 460 EFI with just under 100k miles. you can't just dangle a 460 in front of a 19 year old gear head and not expect me to want to get some power out of the old girl. i really want to at least waker up a bit and rather than posting the typical how to get more power or what heads or what cam or whatever i wana see what y'all wana do or have done to your 460. throw up some pictures too if you can!

I'm in the process of collecting parts for my 460 build. I will be working with my 85' F350's original 460. So far, I have an Edelbrock 1411 750 cfm carb and a set of C9VE heads. I'm in the process of getting rid of all of the emissions garbage, installing the carb and performing needed maintenance on the engine. I recently purchased this truck. PO says he installed a"performance cam" last year.
Immediate future plans;
Port and install the heads
Edelbrock Performer intake
Custom ground cam and pre emission "straight up" timing gear set
Headers
Re-curve the distributor
Down the road;
Stroker kit, probably around 520 ci.
My goals are to get around 400hp and 500 ft/lbs of torque, run on regular octane gas, making a serious, fun towing machine!

I've got a 460 with an unknown mild cam (purchased used and already built), D3VE heads, Weiand Stealth intake, Edelbrock 750 carb, HEI dizzy with a Moroso curve kit, and the timimg base is at 18 deg BTDC.
That is not making enough power for me, mostly because I live at 7200 feet. I will be stroking it to either 520 or 533 cubic inches. That along with changing the rear end gears from the 3.42 it has to 4.11 should really wake up the truck.
Good luck with yours

if i could build one today without much regard to cost?
pistons at zero deck, (preferably taller pistons or offset grinding the crank rather than decking the block)
CR around 9.5
FR Super Cobra Jet heads
Lunati Voodoo 256/262 (10340701LK) timed straight up with matching springs ect.
full roller rockers
Weiand Stealth intake (already have)
Edelbrock 1406 (already have)
and reasonable expectations of 350hp/400+tq.
this would be powering my 79 f350 with stock 4.10's and would serve as a heavy hauler.
if i were going to build it today, for real ...
same as above
but leaving the long block alone
using a Lunati Voodo 250/256 (10340700LK) straight up
stock rockers
and reasonable expectations of 300hp/380tq
this would still power my 79 and would still serve as a heavy hauler .... which it does anyway, with everything stock and far less power
but i haven't thought about it much ....
