On most all of the pumps here in TN the cetane is listed as only 40, whereas Ford recommends a minimum of 45 for the 6.4, so I would use it year round, and have, using the white in the winter when it hits below 20 here. Boosting the cetane seems to really help,

Without cetane boost the low cetane fuel that alot of us have will not completely burn and cause sooting up in egr passages and intake manifolds.
