My transmission problem keeps getting expensive. As it turns out after rebuilding the entire transmission, there was a grinding noise when coasting. Cause, as I found many posting in several, buleting for Ford trucks, a faulty transfercase.

Does anyone know of a please where I can find a cheap, rebuilt or if anyone has a spareone collecting dust in a shed or garage somewhere Please let me know.

I have a 95 Explorer Limited 6 cylinders 4.0 4x4. Which I think uses a Borg Warner 44-05 Transfercase.

BW 4405 are a Mercedes Benz aplication, and can found parts and spares in MB dealers, I repared my SSangyong Musso whit this Deales.

first there are 5 style of 4405 3 (control trac) 2 (AWD) there is a letters after the 4405 like fa ga ca ... now it can also be the shifting forks bad most you pull are $100 for t-case others want $500 for them if you can installit if not have it rebuilt it will cost $500-$800 as long as the bushing is not bad in the t-case for the helecut gears
