Latest eBay score: Old Dixco Tach

Just received my "new" tach for my '59. While it does look cool as it is, the main reason I got it is because they were made on Vashon Island back in the day, which is my hometown. After shipping and all I paid $45 which I think is a great deal. I don't know what they're technically "worth" but that price was worth it to me just for the "Vashon" writing at the bottom.

Does anyone know what year it is, or if I can find out? From what I read he moved his company off island and out of state in 1963 so it must be before that. I plan to remove the case and put new wires on it. Right now it has 3 old orange wires coming out of it. Also I read something on here about changing resistors inside to set it up for a v8/v6/4cly etc but I'll see what I find on the inside.

Anyone have other info on these?

That's very close to the Bonneville tach my dad had. It didn't work, but I plan to rebuild it.

Well I finally got around to opening it up. How do I get the rest apart? The only other screw is the one on the face and it just spins freely in both directions.

Right now I have a black, brown and small green wire coming out but they're all hacked and spliced. I'm sure I could get it to work but I'd like to replace all the wires from inside the tach.
Thanks!

It should just pull out from the front. Might take a small effort, maybe pushing on the two terminals on the back.

Also, the screw on the front is to balance the needle to 0.
