I'm just trying to be devil's advocate here. I still think the original spot in southern Illinois is more desirable from the geographic standpoint, (or the lake region in far western Kentucky).......if only it had smaller single-family occupancy style cabins. This Shawnee place has the larger cabins, and it might be the same situation. I'm just sayin.......we need to get this right and not regret it later. Or you guys can just come to my place and throw up about a dozen small cabins.
I too did the google earth images and I think it would make for a cool place. I still like it a lot. If we were at the end of the road I counted at least 7 cabins, If it rained you'll be glad we have asphalt!

Have you ever been there? Or do you know anybody who's been there? It would be a very easy drive for me comparatively speaking, possibly shorter than even your drive. I am just trying to make sure we make a good decision for everybody.

Nope, never been there....... that makes for part of the "adventure" and if it isn't all that, there is always next time. Its actually a fair drive for me 4+ hours

There is numbered parking in front of each cab and two parking spots for each cabin.

I rented a boat slip for one weekend at the marina, and, all I can say is that the people there were the most hospitable of any place I have ever stayed. The dock master even knew my name (by the description of the boat) when I pulled into the slip. No regrets. Great experience.

Been there, done that. It's an awesome track. My brother used to crew chief a dirt late model in the old STARS series. They traveled all over the eastern U.S. I used to tag along when I could. I'll never forget that track. The team beside us stole our impact gun when we only had like 5 minutes to get the wheels on and get the car out on the track. I started cussing and almost fought that entire team. It was a different (and younger) time in my life. Lots of fun!!! My brother still makes fun of all the things I said that night. Sorry, just had a walk down memory lane.

See the #1 car? I'm pretty sure that's the *******s who stole our impact gun! The driver's name was "Chub". He was the series champion. I lost it and started yelling "What the #$%# kind of name is Chub anyway!"

Damn I'd like to see a good dirt track race right now. Cabin fever is driving me insane!

Just take the F1 up over the mountain with all the ice and I'm sure cabin fever will be set aside with an adrenalin high!!!

LOL. I figure if I stay inside much longer, it might set me straight. But I have started tinkering with my 50 a little here and there between work weekends. I honestly don't see what keeps people from just going nuts. Everybody always wonders why Kentucky basketball is so popular in this state. It's because there is absolutely nothing else to do during the winter except watch them play on TV. Also probably the reason people used to have 10 kids each around here in the old days......
