another '59 suspension thread
I had asked some questions a while back and when I came back to the forum I would write a reply and then get an error. Hoping this works today.
Anyway, still looking at the truck. It either needs everything or very little depending on how I want to go. One big question I have is concerning the CV swap. I 'think' I'd like to do this but it lowers the front ~5" right? That makes me think I'd like to lower the back 5" or so. I do see some lowering springs that will do that from performance online. This will need to be my truck and that probably involves some towing. Not often but often enough. These lowering springs keep the axle on the bottom right? and will allow me to tow like stock?
It might be best for me to add disc brakes and power steering and call it a day but I wouldn't mind lowering it a bit, either with springs or drop axles. For my purposes I'd say the mono-leaf lowering springs would not be a good option.
Just looking for opinions and what some of you in the same situation may have done. Thanks.

From my experience, lowering and towing do not go together very well. If you lower the front, you can lower the back by changing how the rear axle is placed on the springs. Original is axle below the springs. You can do some fabricating and place the axle above the springs, but beware - you will have less axle travel, and possibly be hitting the bump stops on the frame when you tow.

Ok, well, I guess you haven't seen these. This is what I was asking about.
