An intro to my 00 V10 and some instant gratification!
I've been a member here for a while and have owned my 2000 F-250 V10 ECLB 4x4 for over a year now. Its an XLT with a 3.73 lsd in the rear, camper pack, electronic shift on the fly 4x4, and that's about it. One of the previous owners put a K&N intake and a Flowmaster exhaust. I bought it last year with 138k or so and I'm up to 141k now. The previous owner used it for his business but it doesn't appear to ever have been worked hard. For a New England truck is has essentially no rust. Door bottoms, fenders, bed over the wheel wells are are spotless. Interior is just about perfect for the miles. I've been slowly getting it squared away after being neglected but not really abused by him. So far its gotten valve cover gaskets, almost all the coils, ball joints, tires, and most recently rear brakes because a caliper was being ground down on one of the rear rotors.
Now onto the instant gratification tonight.
I had noticed the factory bottle jack thrown in the front left fender well next to the intake. It didn't look like it belonged. Thanks to quick FTE search I found the factory clip and bracket were still in place under the rear seat. Done!
The previous owner had a bug guard on the front of the hood that I ripped off over the summer because it was all cracked. I remember looking at where it was screwed into the hood and thinking those holes and missing paint weren't good and were bound to rust. Touch up paint to the rescue tonight. Done!
Use additional touch up paint to clean up where the jack was rubbing the fender and the hood in the engine bay. Done!
Research on FTE if that socket under the hood was really a hood light, how it worked, what size bulb it took, etc. then remembered there was a bulb rolling around in the glove box from when I bought the truck. It was the right one. Hood light fully operational. Done!
I assume the previous owner took under hood light out thinking it was causing the battery to drain. I found it was the crappy aftermarket radio install and weak battery. Done!
All in all it was about 10 minutes worth of work in my slippers tonight and highly satisfying. Sometimes that is always the best. And here are a few photos so you guys can see what this beast looks like:
First test fit in the garage across from my house. With 6'8" clearance stated she just fits.
Tailgate could use some paint. I have since started covering the scratches with stickers...and touch up paint.
Stopped in at our dealer groups Ford store in CT for some parts and a visit.
Towing my old MGB last summer. Fiance peeking out to say Hi.
Dropping off the dolly I borrowed from a good buddy. That's his 1965 Series IIA Land Rover in the background that he has owned forever.
All in all I'm enjoying Super Duty ownership and very glad to find a forum as enthusiastic as this one. I have searched so many times and always found an answer that I've never had to post any questions. I think that really says something. I'm sure now that the truck is getting some more use during snow season, and more miles piled on, some things will break and questions will need to be asked. Until then thanks all I hope you enjoyed taking a look at my truck.

On initial glance I thought you were posting pics of my truck, the big diff being running boards and 4X4 sticker. The additional photos showed more differences, cab roof lights, chrome bumper and towing mirrors.
Even the minor bumps and bruises look familiar. One nice looking truck!
Note: that could'a even been my youngest daughter peeking over the rear end.
