testing ignition coil packs (3.8)
2003 Ford Windstar 3.8
Seems like there is a forum for everything here lol. Best android app going!
Im normally over at the bullnose forum but I'm out of town on business and my van is acting up.
Just changed plugs and wires. I still have a misfire on cyl 1. I have to take off the whole wiper assembly to check the coil pack and reach#1 plug. Being on the road and in a hotel complicates this slightly.
My question is this: if number 3 is getting good spark (I'll test tomorrow) would that guarantee that number 1 is getting proper voltage from the coil?
Im almost positive it is an ignition problem. I'm leaving towards buying a new coil pack and replacing it. 140k miles and I'm sure it's time. Just trying to avoid replacing random parts till my check engine light goes off :-)
