2015 2.7L Ecoboost in Baja 1000!!

That's pretty sweet. I'm surprised that they used the all new aluminum allows with the old body panel shapes. Based on some of the articles I've read about the problems they've had with forming aluminum, I wouldn't have guessed that they'd have the stamps and forms to make the out-going body in aluminum.
I wish they would have expanded a bit more on the 2.7. I'm really interested in hearing more about the motor as it probably would have been a better fit for my use in my '13 than what the 3.5 ecoboost is.

Wha'?? Ok, let me go back and watch that...
Ok, I watched it. I have one MAIN concern - money. I don't know if I have enough to buy one!! Hehehehehee. Well, I do wonder about that variable oil pressure stuff a bit. Hmmm, oh me, Ford canno' have any issues with that! I've never heard of variable oil pressure pump, have y'all?

I think that might be a non-scored demonstration type class.

Top of that is Ford said they used about 700 pounds of Aluminum in the new trucks....I want to know what that comparison to the steel they had used for the previous years. All I know is they ended up taking about 600 lbs off the overall weight going with Aluminum.
I wonder also how hard it will be for body shops to repair any damage or if they'll order the new parts and put them on or if they'll attempt to repair it.

So what does this mean? We don't know anything about them. And for certainly does not hold up long term. Was motor any good after the Baja 1000? was it stock? What kind of times that get? What kind of horsepower / torque output does it have? How does it hold up to the start stop technology? How are the bearings rotating assemblies going to hold up? There's just too many questions, especially as a Ford owner realizing how little ford stands behind their products. Sure for me to make that kind of an investment. Trucks are becoming ridiculously overpriced as it is now trucks are only going up and up and up in dollars

I just watched the new 2015 F150 they put in the Baja 1000 disguised as the current model body. It has the all new 2.7L Ecoboost in it! Enjoy!

first why are you comparing a new middle tier engine to what used to be considered one of the top end engines.
second define beat? peak hp and torque better than 6.2? no. may have better low end than the 6.2 though with a much flatter curve.
better mpg on 2.7? yes.
reliability? unknown for both the 6.2 and 2.7. theres not enough data for any of the 2011+ engines to make a call as to whether or not these engines are reliable. thats something better answered 10 years down the road.
i don't understand all the hate against lower displacement turbo engines.
