Aluminum Body

The 2015 F-150 will have an aluminum body. I'm hoping they start doing this with the Expedition/Navigators to help eliminate the rust out issues.

They still haven't figured out to paint Expedition / Navigator hoods and hatches after years of trying, the whole body should really be nice all bubbled up.

To what are you referring? I haven't been waiting for any class action suit.

Oh okay. Well I haven't had that happen with either my expedition or my navigator, so I guess I'm out.

I used to have a Plymouth Grand Voyager mini-van that has a big paint peeling issue. I contacted Chrysler about it since I'd seen many, many other similar models with the same issue. Chrysler said, (get this) "the peeling paint was the result of owner neglect." Of course I said, ""WTF, all of them?" Didn't get anywhere with that one. I later learned from an auto body shop that Chrysler had used a water based primer and the top coat of paint would lose the bond with it.

It's very common on Expeditions. My 03, 04 and 10 all have it. If you don't have it in visible spots (my 04) take a look at the inside edge of the tailgate on what is the bottom when it is closed, they pretty much all have it there (my 03, 04 and 10).

the hoods on the first gens are also aluminum correct? along with the last few generations of f-150s and i have not had an issue with any of them.

I have however had to repair a 2006 expy (in 2008) that had a badly bubbling rear hatch.
