I just got back from the Houston Auto Show where I saw the 2015 F150 in person for the first time. My first impression seeing it up close and personal is not good. There's so much going on with the styling of the truck that it lacks continuity. It seems like a hodge podge of different ideas that don't mesh very well. It's got hints of the other manufacturers styling cues like it's trying to be 3 trucks at once. The one at the auto show was 2 wheel drive and the front end seemed to be way too low. My opinion is that they missed on this one from a styling perspective so I will be keeping my 2012 and making the upgrades that I want to it. Ford however did hit a homerun with the new Mustang and I can't wait to put one in the driveway. That Stang is sexy!

2015 F150 switch to F250 sales prediction
As an observer I can see what Ford is doing.
1 - comply with unreasonable EPA standards
2 - ride the "Ecoboost" wave and I'm pretty sure they are
3 - despite current ratings, a transition of the F150 to a "light duty" truck
4 - hopefully transition many "traditional" truck buyers to the F250
Certainly all automakers misstep from time to time, and we can only wait and see.

IMO, since I am a "Ford Enthusiast", I would not even use the Japanese company name in referencing or in any other way on our site. I must agree with the above earlier observation. This new Ford F150 is a light duty truck and will have its following but I think there will be also be a lot more F150 owners switching to F250 in these next couple of years.

Comparing the 2015 F150 to a non-Ford truck is BLASPHEMY! I would rather be castrated with a dull knife then ever say Ford looks like the competition, or even drive one of their vehicles.
Ford is making this generation look more like the Super Duty line. Just wish a Crew cab long bed diesel F150 was in the mix for this year.

With that said though. Some may step up to a Superduty if they don't like the styling of the 2015 and some may very well switch over to Ram or GM.
Either way though this is nothing new. I know people who switched to other brands when the 2004 F-150's came out. And I'm sure people switched when they were face lifted in 2009 as they will when the 2015's hit the showrooms.
But don't think this doesn't happen with other brands as well. Its just part of being an auto manufacture. You can't please your fan base 100% of the time, and sometimes the less loyal one's are gonna jump ship if they don't like what you are doing.
