I hate to have to drill the holes but I have tried everything I know . once it lines up and works I can clean it all up and no one will ever see it.

A pm to him would be better than doing it on MY build thread.

Well I have been sanding all over again. Road grime and other junk on the primer. I made a hoist for the door. It will allow painting of it easier. I'm not sure how I will do it all but I will figure out a way. I found 3 holes on the drivers door that are not on the passenger door so I will be welding them up. My goal it to get the cab and one door painted white next month. Maybe 1 fender too. I still don't like how one fender looks in the sun and with the color I'm going to use I need it to look great.

I started to work on the last bit of rust out. it came out fairly good. It will never be seen but i tossed a little filler to cover small imperfections on my welds and grinding.

I am starting on this part now. Im not 100% sure if i will keep the old steering or not. I like to keep it and just add power steering. But again I'm not sure power steering will fit now as the engine is mounted there. The stock box just fits.

Good to see this thread again! Thats a clever patch to a common rust out area. If you can make the power box fit you will not regret it! IMHO

There are a few out there. Witch one? the Toyota conversion looks to be the best for a stock look.

Not sure about the others but I used the Toyota which is a little larger than stock.
Where do you see the interference being on your setup? Mine was the long tube headers, by moving my engine over ~ .75 inch I was able to clear the headers.

A box from 79- 84 Toyota 4X4 is what you want, I think mine is out of an 82. Here a link from FTE articles--Toyota Steering Box Swap For 1948-1960 Trucks - Ford-Trucks.com

Thank you.
I have built a work area to work on the hood. I have the dent out as much as I can so I will start sanding and coating the hood with a body filler to make it look as nice as I can. I was hoping to have concrete in the shop by now but I will just have to wait. I need to get the truck ready for paint before winter. I have the hood and one more door to do. I still have one fender I have not been able to get just right. in the correct light I can see my work. I wish I had a good replacement. I found another truck but that fender is dented too. I want to be ready for hot Aug nights next year.
Photos to come.

I bought it over the internet on e bay... Well I need to start giving at least 1 day of work to this truck the other 6 will have to go to the other 6 projects I have going on now.
