i got in my truck and it wouldn't start, no of the dash light came on or anything. it still had resistance though. after trying a few time the key turned completely 180 degrees with no resistance. all of my dash lights and radio came on and stayed on when i took the key out. please help! i don't know what it could be.

Sounds like the actuator in the steering column broke. To shut off the ignition, reach on top of the steering column near the firewall and you'll feel the switch. Push it all the way up towards the top of the column and then down one click and that will be off. If you can't move the switch, disconnect the battery.
The actuator is inside the top end of the steering column. It's not a difficult job but it is time consuming. There's a few video's on you tube on how to do it.
