duraspark ll swap

i am doing the duraspark ll swap and was wondering why the colors of the wires on the new module and distributor dont match any wire diagrams. on my module left to right i have white red purple orange black green, do i just wire in order like diagram? ford 300 inline 6. thanks for your help, i think it is a 1980 module.

The plug is right isn't it? You are using the original plug? And it plugs right into the proper DSII distributor correct?

What year is the truck? 1985?
If so the IGN module just plugs in to the existing power plug (red and white wires) on your truck.

The Duraspark coil uses a large C shaped plastic connector.
Most call it the 'horseshoe connector'

You can get one from an autoparts store, Dorman #85848.

The green wire goes to the Duraspark module.
The red wire should have a 1.2 ohm 20W resistor in line from hot in 'run' and no resistor in 'start'

There's a nice color coded diagram here;

What do you mean "a tube coming out of the end below the gear"?
How long is it?
Did you pull out the oil pump drive shaft with the distributor?

I'm not really certain on the internals of a 300 engine.
Sorry

85 F150 I6-300: Does anyone have a pic., of the harness I need? I was given one from a 78-79 and on the module end, it has one duraspark connector and a different Gray Plug...I'm guessing this wont work. If anyone has the correct harness, they will sell me...let me know!!
