My mileage was better with the 5.0 than the 3.7l. If you back it down to 70 the mpg will jump to 21, but I say go go.

Not bad for a boat anchor V8.

Just kidding. The Coyote is one of the best V8 engines ever made. 19mpg is good with any engine in a full size 4X4. Good to hear you are enjoying it.

Have only had my '13 xlt 5.0 for a couple days, but getting 16.8 avg (have to hand calculate later).

I'm not real easy on the throttle all the time either. My '02 with a 4.6 averaged about 13, and was gutless. Love the new ride!

Even a one time hand calculation can vary. The most accurate way is to hand calculate an average over about 4 or 5 fillups.

This way variations can be smoothed out. Variations like filling the tank to exactly the same level every time and average out trips that sometimes may be under conditions that may be the worse for good mileage, or trips that may have been optimal for good mileage.

I am new to posting on this site, but have been lurking prior to buying my truck. Just sold a 03 F-350 with the 7.3. Tuff switch, but I think I can get used to the new ride!!!

I've been very pleased with the fuel mileage in my 2014 Ecoboost Limited with 3:31.1 gears so far.

if you drive a truck, really, who gives a damn about mileage anyway? Fill it up & suck it up is what I do. Shop for the best gas price and drive on.
Otherwise would have bought a Focus.

2014 F150 5.0 I added 285/65/20 and 5 Star tune running 87 Perf..Tow and my truck is a beast off the line now and through all the gears. Before adding the tow tune i got 10.1 pulling my 22' 4,000 lb camper from Nebraska where i bought it and 18.0 withough the camper. i'm getting 16.7, since adding the Tune, i'm pulling the camper in 2 weeks to the high mountains of colorado, first time since added the Tow tune, i'll let you know how it does.

I like resetting that screen when almost empty and coasting downhill. No one believes I get 99 mpg. I really do though coasting downhill.

I agree... but I get better than the EPA rating of 17MPGs combined with 34.5" mud terrains, 4.10 gears and a 91 performance tune. So I'm happier than hell, but given my mods and the power my truck makes I wouldn't care if I got less than the EPA ratings.

That's because the turbos and performance overcome the extra use of fuel required by the mods and all the guys like you drive like grandma. Lol

I mix it up... I drive like grandma about half the time and like the little old lady from Pasadena the other half.

Lol.

Did you know the hyper-milers got 33mpg in the 3.7 f150? They drove cross-country at 45 mph. It is way more how you drive then what you drive.

My Prius would disagree with that.

Nah, it's not "all along". For the last year and a half while my wife is in school. I've had a couple Super Duties, three F150s, and an Excursion in the past. Really liked my '13 and look forward to getting my hands on another one.
