Anyone run WMO/RUG blend in a 6.0?

I have a good WMO source and wondering how my 6.0 would do on a WMO/RUG blend. I've read both sides of the fence; not a good idea and I've been doing it for years. Any actual users here?

I guess no one does. Well I'm going to sell my 04 and go back to a 7.3. I was lucky to get 4 relatively trouble free years out of the 6.0. Will now be looking for a nice 02-03. Sure will be nice to have a 7.3 again and not be afraid of mods.

"WMO/RUG blend"

What are you blending with the waste motor oil? I've run biodiesel through my 6.0L off & on several times (commercial availability permitting) and haven't had a problem. But I've heard some really nasty things about using waste motor oil for a fuel in diesel engines. A shop heater is one thing, but injectors and lift pumps are allot pickier than a shop heater.

Mixing 85% WMO with 15% RUG(regular unleaded gas) aka W85. Many run this blend from what I've read. I won't do it in my 6.0 but I will in a 7.3 or at least try.

There seem to be quite a few running W85 with success here:Bio-Diesel and Alternative Fuels - Diesel Forum - TheDieselStop.com

Not sure that I noticed any 6.0's running it though.

Yeah I'm a member there since 03, it's where I got most of my WMO info

I've got 4,000 miles on a 6.0 PS running 80/20 and she runs fine. She has been smoking a bit, but Jody at DP-Tuner is going to write some custom tunes for it....I'll let you know

I'm very happy to report that I got my new tune from DP-Tuner (Thanks Jody!) and she doesn't smoke anymore on the 80% WMO / 20% Regular Gas blend and with the custom 80 Econo tune it's got way more power than before.....the exhaust even smells like normal diesel exhaust.....I'm lovin' it!

Hey kmakar, if you're still around, are you still running your 6.0 on 80/20? How's it doing?
