It appears from the complete transcript of the interview I saw that his remarks were taken completely out of context. A case of the media trying to make it into an Edward Snowden affair??

 

Maybe so but he should have known better. That really wasn't the time or place for that kind of discussion. I'm sure that at the very least he will be going back to remedial public speaking at the "Glass House".

 

I'm not worried about Big Blue as much as I am Big Brother. CA, NV, OR, NYC and the 17 state I-95 coalition (just for OTR trucks so far) are looking into ways to use this technology to replace the missing gas tax for road maintenance due to higher MPG and electric cars. Don't worry if you drive an older vehicle, these black boxes would be supplied at registration. If you think this is a flat tax, think about traffic patterns, inner city driving etc, you may be taxed higher rates for the privelige of driving in certain conjested areas such as DC, NYC, Boston and LA.

As far as living off the grid, better plan on moving to some third world country (preferably one you can walk to) and destroying your laptop, cell phone and credit card before you leave.
