i change at 4k interval on my 2012 truck, anways, i was nearing
4k and checked the oil and it was 2 quarts down.
its a 2012 with 12000 miles, i use motocraft 5w20 and 820 filter

Has your truck always used that much oil. One of my 2V V10 used a quart every 2K from new, I sold it with 100K on it to a contractor friend and at 275K it still uses a quart every 2K.

i think its a bit more than normal,
but havent much history to compare it to really, its tow/hual usage for the most part,
1st 2 changes were done early and 2nd 2 changes are now on 4k interval, perhaps i need to switch to a 3k interval----stupid dealer still insists upon a 10k interval, even after i explain usage to them-(idiots) i change my own -but they did a freebie when i bought it----

my 2005 has always used a quart +- in its 3k intervals,(towing)
though it doesnt tow anymore and used virtually 0 oil the past year.

perhaps our extreme weather swings have something to do with it--?
