What's out there to resetting codes?

Personally I bought an Actron CP9580, at the time paid about $140 shipped. So far its smarter than I am but reads and cancels codes perfectly.
There is a newer version but a gently used model for a good price can still be updated making it as versatile as it needs to be for most of us DIY's.
Just one idea---there are many, many of these devices out there---budget and what you need/want pretty much makes the choice for you.

Also, you can look at one of those OBDII Bluetooth scanners, similar to this one:
Just Google "OBDII Bluetooth" and a ton of hits will show up.
I, too, have a regular Scantool that I paid over 4 bills for, but tried one of these 20 bux cheapies just out of curiosity. I use the "Torque Pro" app on my Android smartphone and I can say that this cheap bluetooth adapter is almost as good as the big buck scan tool, and in some cases better, because I can add actual gauge faces to smartphone and watch everything in real time. Great for troubleshooting an intermittent problem.
Keep it in my console all the time. Has saved friends and family a ton of money checking and clearing codes.

We installed the "OBDII Bluetooth" Last night and could not get the OBD2 to talk to the windows 7. You could see the computer send to the unit, but no return info. So today my son put it into his laptop and it worked on my 2011 Ford truck and his 2014 Dodge truck. His laptop is the latest and the greatest. So now I have to find some type of program that will work with windows 7 on my laptop.

I use the Torque Pro app on my Android phone with it. Works perfectly.
Used a Windows based ProScan Download ProScan OBD-II (OBD2) Scan Tool Software with my laptop, but like the Torque Pro better, since it was a smartphone based system and don't need to lug laptop out to use it. My lap top is an older one, but did use it w/ XP and later, after OS upgrade to Win7, with no problems.
