F-350 4x4 Jackpot!

A client of mine has about half a dozen '79 F-350 4x4's. I asked him if he was interested in parting with one. He said he wants to sell them all together. I know one or two are XLT Rangers with air. They have been used as farm pickups and most have flatbeds. He thinks that they were the best truck ever made. I was there on business so I didn't push the issue, but he knows I am interested. I plan on stopping by soon to do a little inspection and see about making an offer. The big question is can I fit two at a time on my 28' flatbed AND what my wife will say. Might even have to part with a Dodge 12 valve for the opportunity! Any guesses on a salvage value each?

your wife will likely kill you.......Other than that your good to go.......well other than trailer length.....Figure an 8' bed, about another 8 feet for cab, maybe another foot for front and back bumpers, per truck......im guessing your gonna need 32', maybe 34' minimum deck length

Hmmmm....always wanted a wedge car trailer or a semi dropdeck with dovetail. I'll get some photos of these rigs to share.

Well, more trailers purchased will get you killed by the wife as surely as half a dozen old trucks purchased will.......Either way, get your affairs in order.......

I can't speak for shortbox trucks but reg cabs are about 18' depending on bumpers and crew cabs are about 21'. Had a 90 cube van that shrunk from 25' to 22' when I took the ferry to Vancouver Island and back.

Hang on Toto....if you have a long hitch tongue on the front (for some truck front end to hang over) and removable ramps on the back and the flat beds are not too long, yes you can get two.

But....my wife wont't kill me and I have a one truck/trailer big enough to haul one SC LB or CC SB/LB and can get another truck/trailer to follow me there that can haul two reg cab LB's at a time from Kansas to Missouri.

Are you setting on this pot of gold or what? There worth/salvage $ all depends on if they are real vin verified F350's, 4x4, D60 front axle, and current body and motor condition, rust ect...

Farm life can be rough on these rigs and so can some farmers. They condition might be only worth the current $ per lb scrap prices going rate.

Pm me it its a possibility, I deal in cold hard CASH! A cell phone pic is worth a 1000 words and a real D60 king pin front axle is worth a 1000 dollars to some folks.

You, sir just might be the luckiest man alive..........not only do you have a great fleet of trucks, but you clearly have an exceptional wife as well.......Do you play the lottery, or otherwise gamble? Because if you do, im guessing you win often!!!!!

Lucky, why yes I have some great Ford trucks, some real cool FTE friends and yes, one hell of a bad *** wife.

She loves (me) and old Ford trucks, open headers and mud. This frame rig when done (460,Auto, 8" LIFT, already has twin D60's and 44" swampers will be last) is to keep her out of the bronco. lol

She has her own creeper and her own set of air tools and will NOT work on anything without me in the shop. She can spot a truck in farmers field and she'll say "hay turn around that was 78 F250 and might be for sale".

You will notice the tense of which Numberdummy speaks......he said "came" with D60's, not that they all have them anymore. factory numbers, production and the like are his expertise

Gentlemen , Does anyone have connections IN Maine/ NH or Vermont with a F250 4X4 1976 or there abouts , with a healthy Frame. I have a 74 4x4 running gear with a **** frame and body , but I have a 76 2x4 with a rock solid body I wish to Swap the running gear, But being here in Canada where the salt is heavy in the winter, I am having a hard time finding a Frame that is in good shape.
