Power Steering pump recommendations on a 302 with IFS

I have a 52 F-1 with IFS, rack & pinion P/S, 302 Ford & Chev. alternator.

Need some suggestions for pump, reservoir etc.
I don't have any mounting brackets, pulleys, etc. now.

I see the GM pumps with reservoir listed in Speedway. Would this be a good option?

Thanks,
TractormanBill

On my 55 with a 429 I am running a Saginaw pump with reservoir and used an aluminum mounting system from CVF Racing. I also installed the aluminum pulley system sold by them, to reduce alignment issues and dress it up. No problems so far with this setup.

Keep in mind that if you run a saginaw pump that was originally used for a power steering box the pump's outlet fitting (flow valve) will be too large for a (rack and pinion) steering rack.
You can buy the correct size fitting. I used this one I bought from speedway motors.

Here's an article pertaining to this as well. Good luck.

The Ford pumps are notorious for whining. I'd go with the GM (Saginaw? ) pump. I actually bought a GM pump that was a Ford van OEM replacement part, but since I 'd have to completely redo my serpentine belt system, I decided the Ford whine was somewhat bearable.

I probably won't go to the serpentine system but I need to look ahead and figure out:
what and how many crank pulleys to use (I not have 2 now), will add AC compressor along with P/S pump and if I can retain the GM alternator which I have mounted now on the right side.
I just don't won't to get too many things bought and then have to back up to get a dependable unit.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I used a saginaw pump off of a Ford diesel with my Toyota conversion. I used the diesel mount and had to add a couple of spacers to make it line up correctly. Overall seems to work fine, but probably not as attractive as many would like.

The Saginaw pump is a popular upgrade with the early bronco guys.
Here's a link for a bracket

Saginaw P/S pump (resembles a canned ham): 1972/79 FoMoCo Passenger Cars with Hydro-Boost / 1975/91 Econolines.

1979/91 Econoline E100/150's were available w/a 302.
