good day I have a 78 f150 with the dana 44 front axle that has the 5 bolt hubs and have a lead on a set of older dana 44 8 bolt hubs [aprox 1975] were all these 44 axles the same? will they fit? and would I just be able to change the hubs/brakes etc or would I need to change the spindles too?
I have also read a few refrences to the gear ratio on these as 3.50 or 3.55 were there 2 ratios? the reason I ask is I have a dana 60 3.54 ratio rear end that I would like to put in as well to make this truck a 3/4 ton and wonder if it would be compatable thanks

 

I believe 75 is closed knuckle on the f250 and the 78 would be open knuckle not to many parts are interchangeable between the two I wouldn't think
