I have 10ga wire from battery to the power source of the 7pin trailer plug, but that's not enough when I'm using my 12k winch.
I've wanted to put the dual alternators on my psd, the superduty has a second alternator control wire so the ecu can control the charge rate/load of each alternator. But the block bracket is tricky to find when I have the money.
I got a 200amp alt so I'm not too concerned about it right now, I want a York compressor more than a 2nd alt.
I just use the 7 pin RV plug. But I have a 20 amp circuit breaker on the 12V feed. That way if either battery starts drawing too much, it will just trip and reset as necessary. That is how i wire al the trailers I put a winch on. No problems in 10 years

My 9k won't trip the breaker I have, but the old 12k will. I really like the Anderson plug setup because I don't need to open hood for jumper cables, my plow has the same connection on the front with a solenoid disconnect, and the rear crane/boom attachment uses the rear plug. It's quite versital.
My camper has some sort of charge controller for those batteries, I've never messed with that setup.
I try to overbuild my work stuff. If it fails once (usually when I need it the most) it irritates me and gotta build it bigger/badder next time.

I installed the 203* thermostat last night. It now sits at the R and gets to the M under load. Seems to be quieter and a little more uniform. Just thought I'd update.

I also have the 203 stat (about 4 years now) and agree with your observations. It's a timing thing. Here is a thread I did awhile back showing showing the EOT vs stock water temp gauge that you might find interesting ...

Thanks Jim. Did you notice any difference in operational characteristics? MPG gains or such? Mine seems to be happier, if that makes sense.

Byron, I'm sure it helped a bit but don't tract MPG. Last time I checked was 15-17 with my crew cab beast. Once EOT gets up to >= 190* the truck just runs better, quieter injector wise, in a good way and has more go power from the stop light.

Thanks Jim. I'd say those numbers are pretty good. I hope I see the higher end of that Thursday and Friday driving across country. If definitely sounds different...a different kind of clackety.
