Whats it worth?
Hey guys, I am usually in the 99.5 plus forums but I came across this old beat up tired truck to buy as a project, I know the 96 models had an injector pump and the ad dosent seem to make much sense, I was going to go look at it this weekend and offer around 1,200-1500.00 since I have to tow it. This is the ad was wondering what to expect since its a "new" 7.3 to me, well different from my 2000. Thanks guys!

No injector pump. It's not much different than the 2000. Single shot injectors instead of splits, 15* pump instead of 17, no intercooler, no wastegate, no electric fuel. A few other little differences, but all in all pretty close.
That thing looks pretty rough for sure. He may have messed up something he did, or just didn't crank it enough after replacing the injector orings. Hard to say.
Looks like its worth the value of the motor to me. That's not running right now, so..

He says it needs new batteries, So does there need to be a constant voltage for the truck to fire? I think its near the 10.8V minimum while cranking? Its more of an idea since it looks beat, But I want it really for a beater plow truck. Nearing 300,000 miles im sure its time for sticks at the least! It will all really depend on the condition of the oil pan and how overall rusty the frame it is since the bodies never hold up in the salt!
